How to make the most of the your adventure

Flagstaff, Arizona

St. George, Utah

St. George, Utah

Day 1

Arrival

Settle in, get cozy, pick up essentials. We opted for a 2 hour drive from Las Vegas.

Day 2

UTV Tour at Sand Mountain

Book a 3 hour private tour with Mad Moose Rentals in Hurricane, UT. Explore Sand Hallow State Park by UTV. They are an authorized Polaris Outfitter and have the latest machines. Take in the views and play in the sand.

Day 3

Tour Zion National Park

Go early, depending on the time of year it fills up. Stop at the information center and talk to a Park Ranger to get the lay of the land. Whether you are looking for short hikes, traveling with littles or want the best views, they have all the insider knowledge and happy to help.

We took the tunnel and went to the Canyon Overlook Trail. This was an hour hike round trip with narrow trails and rock climbing opportunities for the kids.

The Narrows is also a popular trail that follows a river with opportunities to cool off in the summer or wear waders in the winter.

Angels Landing is one of the more popular and scenic trails, during this 5.4 mile round-trip hike, you will gain 1,488 feet in elevation. It requires a permit for hiking, so plan ahead if this is a MUST for your trip.

Day 4

Rock Climbing, Rappelling and Zip Lining

The whole purpose of our trip was so the kids could fulfill their rock climbing dreams. Utah has some of the best rock climbing in the country. We booked family adventure with Paragon Adventurers and could not be more impressed. Their knowledge, experience, training and safety of outdoor multi-sports is apparent in their tours.

Day 5

Bryce Canyon National Park

Known for their beautiful Hoodoos (irregular columns of rock), Bryce Canyon has the largest concentration found anywhere on Earth. Stop in at the Visitor Center and talk to one of the Park Rangers. They will give great guidance on the trails your searching for. You can walk as little or as much as you’d like to still see the breathtaking views. We went to Bryce Point, Rim Trail, Inspiration Point and Sunrise Point to see the iconic Thors Hammer. Check out their website prior to your visit for weather conditions, closures, permits and more.

Day 6

Skiing at Brian Head

Our kids have never skied and thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce them to a sport that my husband and I love. We were fortunate to get 7″ of fresh powder on our day of arrival. Rentals were easy and efficient through Brian Head. We dropped the kids off for half day of Ski School and then hit the trails ourselves. Both were going down green slopes themselves by the end of the day. It’s a great place for newer skiers and also has opportunities for more advanced. The snow on the red rocks made for amazing imagery.

Day 7

Free Day

We like to keep one day open for flexibility. As much as I try to research before going, I love to hear from the locals and tour guides about other attractions and “Must Do’s” in the area.

GPS accidently took us to the east side of Zion National Park to Kolob Canyon. This was a hidden gem as it was less crowded than Zion. The views are just as majestic.

While we didn’t make it here, Snow Canyon State Park was recommended.

Day 8

Head Home

Pack up and drive to the airport.
